Hugo Klemmons (November 2004).

I am Belgian-Canadian.

I was born in Belgium in 1973. Although my family replanted their life in Toronto, Canada when I was five years old, there is still a Belgian vein that bleeds into my life and work. Just because the tree has become a mighty oak, the seed is still deep within.

I now live in Newfoundland. A large cabin anchors my life to the mountains when my mind is not airborne. Here in the rocky lofts I can dip my brush into the clouds themselves and spill the directly onto my canvas. Each night, the sun sets on my brushmarks in the sky.
