BROKEN EGGSHELLS
February 2001

At the end of an alleyway in London, a dark blue Jaguar is found neatly parked into an inconveniently placed brick wall. There is no sign of the driver, or any clue as to who they were.

Meanwhile, a group of cynics who are fed up with how futile the world has become decide to payback society in a series of the most bizarre and pointless terrorist attacks ever. The world's media attempt to discover if there is any link between these two incidents, or a link between any of a number of random incidents they overheard being discussed down the pub at lunchtime.

There are so many funny scenes it would take forever to list them all (well, 396 pages anyway).

Remarkably fast -paced... I haven't read a book like it at all.

PULLING POWER
March 2002

EARTHQUAKE HOSPITAL SUICIDE SHOCK. c

A group of patients rescued from the earthquake in California were discovered carrying out a bizarre suicide pact yesterday.

By listening in on staff discussions the four had discovered that all of them needed a heart transplant in order to survive, but only one heart was available. Not wanting to leave the decision in the hands of others they began a twisted game of chance, in order to decide who received the heart.

"It was a temporary ward," explained Dr. Bowndes. "There was a mass of wires on the floor that powered the radios, lamps, ECGs and ventilators by their beds. They went round, in turn, pulling out one plug at a time. They had no idea what was plugged in where - it was Russian Roulette with power plugs."

The nurse who discovered the aftermath described it as 'like something out of a horror movie.'

FULL STORY INSIDE...

This book is a little like a Turner Prize winning piece of art... weird but engrossing.

NIX EX MACHINA
Yeah, yeah, I know... it's coming in 2003, oh no, it's coming in 2004.... well, maybe 2005... okay, look, it'll be done when it's done... it is getting there.

Having humbly set himself apart as one of life's great thinkers, Tarko quickly reaches the conclusion that selling snow to the Eskimos is not beyond his capabilities.

Not put off by a few holes in his business plan (a complete lack of funds, no guaranteed supply of snow and not one hint of commercial interest from his intended market to name a few) he establishes snowbrokers.com, an online brokerage service to facilitate snow sales to the Inuit tribes of Alaska. What begins as a whimsical publicity stunt quickly snowballs into a multi-million-dollar global industry.

But as the money rolls in, so begins a series of unfortunate fatalities among the staff as Tarko slowly learns that not everyone in the international snow trade is whiter than white.
